Why It Took Me 8 Years to Launch My Site

Welcome to MiaMoStyles.com The site is finally here and I am so elated to have you! To be honest I wasn't sure this day would ever come! When I started my entrepreneur journey, it wasn't one of high res photos and "nailfies" next to my foreign steering wheel emblem. The nailfies came and went but ill get to that later. When I started Mia Mo Styles it was nothing more than a side job. It would get me through to the next part-time paycheck when my student loans ran out. I was 20 and hair, hair was something like a helpful hobby. So when the side job became my bread and butter, long before I attended cosmetology school, I knew that the time would come for a website. 8 years and 7+ photoshoots, fashion and hair shows, a salon, hair program and product line later you see the site before you. Why did it take me so long? Clearly I had a lot of shit going on (excuse my French). As I looked over my navigation menu this morning I realized the site wasn't ready, because I wasn't ready. I didn't want to show up like every other bundle and beauty site when I knew though my experiences that I could offer more. Once social media stepped into the high-res picture so did the suggestions on how a business "should" look. For a while I was fooled like a lot of my peers, so I played it "large" till destiny started banging on the door of my 1 bedroom apartment in Phoenix. Im thankful though that my journey was and is an unveiling of everything inside and around me. Mia Mo Styles  the salon was about hair. MiaMoStyles.com is an extension of myself and how I choose to show up in this world and what I decide to share. Through my own self-discovery the "life stylist" that has alway lived inside of me has finally begun to take flight. For me that meant leaving past beliefs, ideologies, social circles and misconceptions behind. Making room for all that you are means letting go of all that you aren't. My desire is that you will make use of everything this site has to offer. Whether it be haircare or self-care. Products or podcasts. My Hair Goals or Mia Mo Styles I'm here to help.
